La ville de Dorking est située sur les collines au Sud de Londres avec une longue tradition de chant choral, avec plus de 20 chorales dans un rayon de 5km. Le "Leith Hill Festival" fondé en 1905 est le centre d'une activité annuelle pour les competitions de differentes classes.

Les chanteurs "Martineau", en tant que membres de la société de Chorale de Dorking, ont gagné differentes competitions annuelles, ils ont aussi fait des tours en Europe, y compris Bruge, Gouvier et Paris. Il y a plus de trente ans que le "Dorking Brass Ensemble" a été formé par les principaux membres du "Surrey philarmonic Orchestra".

"Les Martineau Singers" et le "Dorking Brass Ensemble" effectuent régulièrement des concerts de musique, avec morceaux allant du 16ième siecle au jazz contemporain.
