Why not take your boat to the Mediterranean next summer?

GENTLE SAILING ROUTE

 TO THE

MEDITERRANEAN

There are several ways of getting your boat to the Mediterranean. On the back of a lorry, via the French canals, four or five day’s non stop across the Bay of Biscay then down the Portuguese coast or spend the summer or two, gently coasting southwards, enjoying the harbours, cities, towns and villages of France Spain and Portugal.

This is not a pilot book, rather a passage plan and guide to the nicer places between the South Coast of the UK to the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.  It can all be done in easy stages, to suit a lightly crewed boat, with perhaps only a couple of people on board who are without ‘offshore’ experience.  Actually, it is a lovely way to explore a lot of delightful foreign places.

Sailing DVD's

The entire series of Blue Water DVDs were shot by a professional film and television director during a circumnavigation.  They illustrate the experiences of a world cruising yacht crew - the places they visit - the countries and most importantly give a feel for the life style.

Many of the places are only visited by cruising yachts - sometimes impossible to get to in any other way -

The Blue Water Destinations part one DVD is shot on board a yacht transiting the canal system and is the only professional film, shot from the point of view of a yacht using this facility in existence! It really does show exactly what is involved and will greatly help those planning to use this huge commercial stretch of water, joining the Caribbean with the Pacific Ocean.

It is almost impossible to visit many of the Pacific Islands except by yacht so much of these DVD's contain images and information impossible to source else where. Even the Australian episode has material many Australian sailors have never seen including a live helicopter rescue in a big blow with yachts on the reef and the crews in serious trouble.

The Asia DVD has visits to islands that seldom see strangers and dug out canoes are the local method of transport.  The entire series was shot by a sailor for sailors or those planning to experience the great adventure.

PLANNING ON MAKING A CIRCUMNAVIGATION?

THE FOLLOWING THREE DVDs WILL HELP YOU DECIDE WHERE TO GO

These DVD's are what dreams are made of - if you are a sailor or planning to be a sailor

BLUE WATER CRUISING

 the original production

Blue Water Cruising was shot entirely in the Caribbean on board 'Bambola' a Moody 36.

It shows what living in a small boat and blue water cruising is really like. The equipment you need to make the boat comfortable and safe.

If you want to know the how, what and where of long distance cruising, particularly in the Caribbean, then this is the perfect guide.

Visits the Dominican Republic, Martinique, Antigua,   as well as the main islands. It describes and demonstrates what sort of equipment is useful in a live aboard cruising boat. Details of how to contact HERB for Atlantic weather and CARIBWX  for Caribbean weather.
