(Navicarte)
/Fluviacarte maps & charts

Navicarte/Fluviacarte
are the canal and river route charts, which detail all the stopping places,
locks, fuel
points,
marinas, port de plaisance and tourist
information.
Whilst it would be just possible to do the trip only with my book
'The French Canal Routes to the Mediterranean'
and the 'Fluviacarte
#21 - chart of all French navigable waters,'
it would be an awful lot less stressful and more enjoyable, to use
the relevant:-

French
Waterways Guide 2011
This is the latest publication by
Fluviacarte and is similar to a Reeds or McMillan's for UK sailing
boats. It does NOT list moorings or public moorings, provided by local
towns or villages. It does contain information about marinas on
the French inland waterways, boat yards and the equipment they have for hauling -
launching - storage and repairs.
English language section on the rules and
regulations for using the waterways. There are also sections listing the boat
hire companies for self drive holidays as well as 'Hotel' boat
holidays.... If you want to leave your boat somewhere
between the North coast of France and the Mediterranean then this book
will help you plan it. If you break down then this book will
locate the nearest boatyard to get you out of trouble...
£10 is the normal price but I have a couple of copies from 2011 at
£5
- frankly it hardly changes year on year....Just
