A seagoing cruiser will inevitably have greater power and stability to withstand adverse conditions. Contrasting this are river craft with their low draft and small engines to potter around in shallow rivers and canals. MotorCat overcomes these diverse requirements with its efficient and stable hull design. No one can match MotorCat versatility and we challenge anyone to prove us wrong. A test reporter quoted “If you said to the average guy experienced in deep water cruising that you were going to take a 30ft cruiser across channel on a pair of 50hp outboards he would think you nuts. He would also assume you would take all day! The MotorCat would prove him wrong!”

Commercial operators like fisherman, divers, port operators, ferries, where safety and comfort is paramount are increasingly moving towards twin hulled vessels. The design is inherently safe and historically proven going back to the Polynesians. Practical Boatowner undertook a test report in heavy seas and said “Across and down the waves, I occasionally had the opportunity to open the throttles all the way to 5300 rpm and watch the GPS climb to 22 knots. Not once did the boat give cause for concern – even on the way back into harbour, when the tide was sluicing out and the horizon was occasionally hidden by breaking waves”

The lightweight composite structure provides very significant additional stiffness. The narrow hulls have rigid curves and small panel sizes and therefore enormously enhance the structural integrity of the boat. The hull is finished in isothalic resin (anti-osmosis type system adding to the hulls longevity). The design also features the safeguard of being unsinkable. If completely flooded, loaded with people and gear it still will not fully submerge.

In comfort terms the MotorCat boasts ample sleeping room for 4, (a king bed fore without the need to convert the saloon table and 2 generous aft cabin single berths). The hull shape ensures a tranquil nights sleep without the noise of water slap on the hulls.

Forced air ventilation system, custom upholstery, stove, built in fridge and a dinette.
Special touches include a mahogany closet and shelves, teak/holly floors, halogen interior lighting and plenty of storage, elevating the boat from a weekend camper to an elegant cruising vessel.

The twin hull provides a more stable and comfortable ride. Undertaking a fast turn normally means an uncomfortable angle, reduction in speed, and confusion below decks. On MotorCat the change of course would be scarcely perceptible.
