HIGH JINKS

Snowgoose 37’ Elite

Built 1994, Launched 1995, Built by Prout

SAILS

MAIN – GENOA – STAYSAIL – CRUISING CHUTE

Original sails but little used because 1996 & 1997 in the canals 2004 & 2005 laid up due to last owners ill health.  1998 to 2003 the boat was lightly sailed between Spanish mainland and Balearics – and even then only for summer holidays.

The first owner had the boat from new until I bought it last year.  I took the sails to the sailmaker to use as patterns only to be told there was nothing wrong with them. I had them re-stitched, new batten pockets and sacrificial strip Genoa — they look like new.

INTERIOR

It is immaculate!  When I bought this boat only last year it was without a doubt the best I viewed.  It is perfect for a couple that have occasional visitors.  There is a very large double bed forward and a good size double cabin aft.  The heads are massive and we have just fitted a new sea toilet. Just go to my website www.sardiniafloat.co.uk to see some photos of the interior.

OTHER INFO

When I bought this boat it was described as lovingly cared for – and it was.  I have now spent a year lovingly maintaining it.  This is now the boat I would like to buy if my circumstances were different.  I have had this boat sailing at over 12 knots even before I had the sails serviced! – I will be sad to see it go – but can you have a word with my doctor?

Keith

PS

I’m sure I have missed off loads but please come and have a look.

 INTERIOR

It is immaculate!  When I bought this boat only last year it was without a doubt the best I viewed.  It is perfect for a couple that have occasional visitors.  There is a very large double bed forward and a good size double cabin aft.  The heads are massive and I have just fitted a new sea toilet. NAV AREA: large slide-out chart table – integrated seat - various charts, pilots and nav instruments – combination safe – CD player/radio.

HEADS: new Par Brydon sea toilet – stainless steel holding tank (never used) – shower in very large shower area (save water and shower with a friend!!!) – moulded-in washbasin – wall cupboard with lighting and mirror - large storage cupboard/wet locker.

GUEST CABIN: large double bed with storage under – hanging locker – storage shelves – drawers – seat - vanity mirror.

SALOON: nicely shaped table with curved seating (in good condition) – storage under seats – table lamps – television.

OWNER’S CABIN: forward of dining area is a king-size bed that can be curtained off from main saloon if required – very large hanging/storage locker – drawers – seat - vanity basin.

GALLEY: two-and-a-half bowl sink with teak chopping boards – 3-ring gas hob – fridge with freezer compartment (mains/12 volt/gas) - eye-level oven with grill – storage cupboards – drawers – fire blanket.

OFFICE/WORKSHOP: This area was designed and built by Prout and is probably the most useful area of the boat. We keep our computer, printer and scanner permanently set up on the large worktop. There are storage cupboards and drawers for tools, and plenty of work area for doing odd jobs. At the end of the work area is storage for sails etc.

SERVICES: 2 large gas cylinders housed in purpose-built gas locker – gas in starboard hull only – gas alarms forward and aft.  Both hulls are double-bottomed with water tanks inside – there are plenty of inspection/cleaning hatches and the tanks are dried out and cleaned at the end of each season.  It is easy to check condition of the water in the tanks.  Water taken on board is pre-filtered with new filter this year.  Water can be heated in three ways - running engine, gas heater or new electric heater (not yet wired up). Gas water heater also runs the central heating system (ducted hot air). The heating has never been used and is as new. Mains and 12-volt electrics.

OTHER INFO

When I bought this boat it was described as lovingly cared for – and it was.  I have now spent a year lovingly maintaining it.  This is now the boat I would like to buy if my circumstances were different.  I have had this boat sailing at over 12 knots — even before I had the sails serviced! – I will be sad to see it go but my circumstances are changing fast

The original owner and myself have stored the boat ashore every winter since new.  The boat has therefore always dried out well and there is no sign of osmosis — you would expect a Prout to be osmosis-free anyway — drying out is just a bonus!

I haven’t owned the boat long enough to learn everything about her and am looking forward to sailing her this season.  Even though I know that she has to go, I am not in any rush or panic to sell.  However, if ‘High Jinks’ is just the boat you are looking for (and I don’t think you will find better), I will be happy to deliver her anywhere in the Mediterranean for you, free of charge, and treat it as my sailing holiday!

If you want to visit the boat to view her, she will be in Sardinia all season.  Ryanair, Easyjet and BMI Baby all fly here, they are cheap if you plan ahead.  I can provide free accommodation and airport transfers to and from all Sardinian airports.

This word document is best viewed at 150% as the photos show more detail.

If you want more photos taken to show a particular area let me know.
