yanmar impellor

Post by trustnoone »

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for replacing the impellor on a yanmar3gm. On the snowgoose 37 it is hard up against the bulkhead and seems very difficult to access.Any ideas gratefully received.

Sorry to say that I am not familiar with the Yanmar 3gm. I have a Kubota in which the impeller is aft of the engine in a VERY accessible place, just 6 little bolts. As these impellers should be changed every year I suggest you find an easy way to get to it. I left mine for 3 years and when I got in there, there was a blade missing (fortunately which I found) and the rest was looking very sad. I learn from either making mistakes or from other peoples mistakes, and that one won't happen again. Good Luck.

Thank you davy. Unfortunately my impellor pump is very difficult to access but I agree that it needs checking every year.
