Helm pump
I have a 1991 Prout 34 Event. I have just had problems with the steering. i.e. hydraulic ram seized - now fixed. Helm pump was not pumping through to both sides. Does anyone know what SeaStar helm pump should be fitted. The old pumps are no longer manufactured. I have been advised that a SeaStar 1.7 front mount with mounting plate will do the job. Any comments?

Re: Helm pump
I have a Sirocco 26 with the Hynautic Reservalve steering system fitted.
The steering is working during moderate turns, except that when I try for a tight turn, there is a resistance felt on the wheel, and there is a ticking noise the more the wheel is turned.
Could anyone help with the correct method of servicing/filling this system?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Helm pump
I rebuilt my helm in January. It was a hynautics 51 helm with the reservalve. I have a pdf for bleeding the system but seems I am not able to up load it. Send me a pm and I'll forward it to you. Information can also be found online @ southern charm. They had most of the hynautic system pdf's downloadable.[flash=][/flash].

Here is a link to the hynautics info page at southern charm/boaterstore.
