Does anyone have information about original Prout sail numbers? I am trying to pin down a more accurate build date for my boat - which was launched in 1987 after being completed by the first owner.

I seem to remember a list of sail numbers with the year of production - possibly also linked to different Prout models. This could have been on the internet (but I cannot find it again) or even in a book. Failing that, I would like to hear from anyone who knows their original sail number - especially if their boat was built in the mid to late 1980's. If I can get a few of these, it would help me get an approximate date at least.

I can't help with sail numbers but know that on my Prout 39 the hull number and manufacture date is molded on the deck and directly beneath on the hull. It is on the aft edge slightly inboard of the starboard hull. So my boat is built in Great Britain, hull number 33 and built in 05-1995
