I changed my 1995 Escale sail-drive seals this year. I was unable to find any markings on the seals to give me the date of their manufacture or other clues as to the installation date. After the seals were removed, I was surprised to discover they were the original 1995 or 1996 seals. I thought they were in great shape for the age. They had surface cracks but nothing deep or serious looking and in my opinion no sign of imminent problems. Still, I am glad to have new seals and one less thing to worry about concerning hull integrity.
