sillette sonic

Post by trustnoone »

My sillette sonic drive is due for a oil change. Unfortunately the drain plug with a hex 1/4 drive has rounded and I cannot get it out.
I am thinking of ways of draining the oil . I wonder if I can drop the lower piece of the drive which is secured by a number of bolts otherwise may be removing the drive and inverting it to drain the oil.
Has anyone any ideas ?? thanks in advance

I would drill out the plug and remove with an EZ-Out type screw extractor and some heat. You are going to drain the case anyways. Start over with new plug properly lubed.

I can confirm that this works, plus, it really makes your life easier afterwards, when you've replaced the plug with a lubed one.
