Snowgoose aft berths

Anyone made any modifications or other changes to make the aft berths on the Snowgoose 34 and 35 suitable for guests?
As standard they are oversized coffins, crawl spaces at best.
I think I saw at least one floor plan where the steps down to the port hull where moved away from companionway and placed between the forward bulkhead and the seats. That allowed for the port quarter cabin to be extended a foot or two to create at least some standing room for changing and whatnot.
Any other tips or suggestions other than buy something else?
