Sail Dimensions (I,J,P,E) for Prout Quest 33 CS

Post by sa1piper »

I've got square footage measurements from the owner's manual but can't seem to find the numbers the sailmaker needs - the "I,J,P,E" measurements. Does anyone have these handy? Thanks - Paul

Hello,
I'm not a sailmaker, but have had a few sails made for our Prout and can make a suggestion. I'm not too sure that Prout had a "standard" size mast, or at least my mast wasn't. I had our sailmaker actually measure the mast and shrouds for proper fit. I am always looking at "sister" Prouts and am amazed at the various masts and fitting used on each. The other consideration would be your own personal preference to fit and size. Some folks like a larger than normal Genoa (me!) and some like a high foot (me again). On the main, you can consider full length battens etc. Just my two cents.

Hi Terry,

Try contacting Chris Jeckells of Jeckells Sails, http://www.jeckells.co.uk, - they used to be original suppliers to Prouts and have all the dimensions you need (I think, I hope!).

Chris Jeckells did the sails for my Quest and did a good job.
