Re: Proceedure for filling Sirocco steering system
Hi, if you fill the reservalve, close it and pressurize it, you can then open the cylinder line to bleed the system to the cylinder. after bleeding the lines you can then actuate the cylinder and proceed to the system bleed procedure. There are a couple of pdf's available online for bleeding the sys...

I rebuilt my helm in January. It was a hynautics 51 helm with the reservalve. I have a pdf for bleeding the system but seems I am not able to up load it. Send me a pm and I'll forward it to you. Information can also be found online @ southern charm. They had most of the hynautic system pdf's downloa...

Re: quest 31 schematic drawings? mfr rigging specs
Just measured my roller furling headstay. It is 7mm, all of the rest of the standing rigging is 6mm. My Quest is hull 65 and came from factory with sss spar....which from everything I can gather, is no longer in business. My mid mast aft swept stays are anchored inboard next to my aft facing ports. ...

I also have a Quest 31 and can try to help. I don't have factory plans but have intimate knowledge of my Quest.

Re: rig tuning quest 31
I remember Charlie Kanter talking about tightening the rig so that the hull ends don't distort and pull up. What does that mean? Our Prout's rig is loose. The mast doesn't pump nor does it dance about, but the rig is loose. Tighten it too much and doors and hatches start to bind. I think it also dep...

Re: Small tubes in aft bilges.
forward part of rear bilge? do the tubes originate in the water tanks? I have manual bilge pumps in both my aft bilges along with the feed tubes from the water tanks.

Re: Quest 31 Specifications
Hello, We also have a 31 that we have sailed up and down the east coast. As far as sails... I rarely use the staysail. When trying to point higher or as a storm sail, but as a normal course of day sailing, it is just not used that much. I will try to answer questions as you ask them. Terry PS where ...

Re: Snow goose fuel tank
Hello, I'd remove that tank and replace it with a stainless one. George on the Snowgoose Grace replaced his tank with a smaller, but readily available unit. I think his new one is aluminum, but I never really looked at it. With the new enviromental fuels, I'd rather have a metal tank that can be rem...

Re: Replacing hatches on 1984 quest 33cs
Hello, I replaced my hatches with the Bomar brand of hatches made in NH. They were of good quality and much cheaper than the Lewmar brand. You can see on my wifes blog (sunstargazette.blogspot.com 2007-2009) that I replaced the one large central hatch over the salon and then installed five other hat...

Hello,
All of my parts lists and manuals are back on the boat in FL, and I'm in Maine at the moment. Do you know if the steering is a Hynautics unit?

Re: Quest 31' seeking all info
Hi, Glad to know someone has purchased the former Bombadil. We looked at her years ago at 2Hulls in Ft Lauderdale. According to our sail number, we own Quest 31, hull 65. I can't find a VIN anywhere on this hull! Our is a hydraulic steering model from the factory. I can take some pictures for you to...
