Re: Sirocco rudder alignment.
Welcome to the forum. Hydraulic steering or mechanical? Each end of the connecting rod can be adjusted by loosening the locknut and rotating the shaft or end fitting. The shaft itself might also rotate for adjustment depending on connections. Before you do any adjustment though, I would watch the tr...

Prout self steering from prout factory?
I recently came across a historical photo from Ian Hawks (Prout manager) of a swift being sailed down Small Gains Creek. In the background is a catamaran with a self steering kit with a Prout logo on the steering sail. Anyone ever see one of these units in person? https://www.canveyisland.org/people...

Re: Wiring
Hi, my batteries are located in the port aft cabin in a box incorporated into the sole. My starting batteries are located in the cockpit in a box aft the steering wheel. I have run 2/0 and 4/0 wire to feed panels and starter and then 12ga to the rest of my boat.what do you want to know? I basically ...

Prout brouchures and Prout World newsletters
Hello ALL, Mr Allan Veth of EVECOM (multihull.nl) has graciously donated various Prout Catamaran sailing and power cat brochures to the Association. I will be in process of digitizing these to post to the forum. Many, many thanks to Allan for this. Which brings me to request that everyone search the...

Re: sonic sillette propeller removal
Hello and welcome. Using the torch to heat and then let cool the nose cone while allowing penetrating fluid to work its magic has been what I have done. I use KROIL as a penetrant, not sure if it is available worldwide. Time is your friend. Trying to speed up the process can be disastrous. Allowing ...

Re: Prout 39 movement/flex over cabin entrance next to mast
I wonder...my Quest doesn't flex at all. But, my companionway split door is very, very small. Most problems I have either seen or read about is related to the over all size of the opening. So much so that I have given up on the idwa of enlarging my split doorway. Excepting Von Wetzel'S CATS PYJAMAS ...

Re: sillette sonic
I would drill out the plug and remove with an EZ-Out type screw extractor and some heat. You are going to drain the case anyways. Start over with new plug properly lubed.

Re: snow goose 35 aft bunk head room?
Welcome to the forum. From my recollection, there is very little headroom to be had in the aft berths. Depending on how tall you are it is a crawl space.

Re: Yanmar 2g fuel return line
Should your diesel return line be open to the atmosphere? Mine was plumbed directly to the tank without a breather type opening.

Re: Show me your emergency tiller
My emergency tiller directly connect to the rudder. I need to disconnect the rudder tie bar from the hydraulic ram so the rudder moves freely. The older Snowgoose 34-35 I'm familiar with have mechanical connections and would need to be disconnected from the steering shaft to cause the rudder to turn...

Mike, is your rudder hydraulic or mechanical? The older Snowgoose I have seen are mechanically driven. Can you easily disconnect the rudders? Terry

Re: solent stay on event 34
Hi John, I am always on the lookout for how to keep it simple. I like the idea of all lines to the cockpit and it is one of the reason's I like the Prout mast aft rig. I too shredded a Genny and had a new one made. I've never been really happy with the new one though. I liked the really large previo...

Hello Peter, Congratulations on your catamaran purchase and welcome to the Association On my boat I use either a bridle connected to both the Genoa tack and either hull's forward cleat. I then use a pulley system to adjust the foot so it is above the rails parallel to the water. I can raise and lowe...

Re: Prout water tanks
It it is like mine they are made of soft copper and easily bent closer to the bottom of the tank. Mine have a long slow curve that I've adjusted.
