Replacing hatches on 1984 quest 33cs
Has anyone replaced hatches on an older Prout? As I'm in the US, I'd like to use Lewmar replacements instead of Gebo. It seems like the Lewmar size 60 (22 5/8" square) would fit perfectly for the main hatch, but hate to shell out $700 and find out it doesn't. I've also seen pictures of other Pr...

hydraulic steering adjustment?
Hi - the starboard side rudder on my 1984 quest has a considerable amount of "play" and I'm wondering how to fix it. The hydraulic system is pressurized and appears to be holding - also the port rudder is fine. Is there some sort of bleeding procedure or manual adjustment on the cylinder? ...

Sail Dimensions (I,J,P,E) for Prout Quest 33 CS
I've got square footage measurements from the owner's manual but can't seem to find the numbers the sailmaker needs - the "I,J,P,E" measurements. Does anyone have these handy? Thanks - Paul

engine noise...
The engine didn't actually overheat (i.e. no alarm or warnings), but the alternator belt started smoking a short time after covering the panel with plywood. I also am worried about air starvation - the yanmar is running GREAT with plenty of air.. it just gets LOUD after sitting next to it for 14hrs ...

Engine Noise
Hi - I am a new owner of a 1984 Quest CS33 equipped with a Yanmar 3gmd-20. When I bought the boat, the owner had removed the fold-up table from in front of the engine for refinishing. The refinishing job never dried properly, so I've been forced to run the engine with the access port wide-open as I ...

Wow - I'm impressed with the responses.. lots of good info. The youtube video was extremely helpful in showing how it all fits together. But it's not the yoke that's broken - it's the cast aluminum that attaches the wishbone on the leg to the yoke. I uploaded a pic to show it........ http://ptaadams...

I just got the boat a few months ago - it had been sitting on the hard for 2+ years and had been neglected and poorly maintained for several year prior to that. Long story short - originally the leg was frozen down and would not swivel left nor right. I was able to unfreeze the up down tilt with a c...

Sonic MK2 catdrive replacement
Hi - I have a 1984 Quest CS33 that is in need of a new catdrive. I contacted Sillette in the UK and they quoted me a price of approx $4500 USD for a new one. Has anyone in this forum replaced one? Any tips/advice?? Thanks in advance - Paul
