I have heard that the racing boat had no finished interior boat also. So it was real light and had bad center of gravity. I don't think capsizing is a very big issues with Prouts.

This seems like a good insulating product. I haven't used it yet, but plan to at least try a little out. If anybody has had any first hand experience, please let us know. http://www.sailorssolutions.com/index.asp?page=ProductDetails&Item=SPM01 Hard to imagine that you will starve a small Yanmar ...

My Snowgoose Elite has just over 6' of headroom in the salon. Much more in the pontoons.

I would like to keep it a Prout only site. I think there are places that allow free forums if you allow advertising. I will try to check out, but if anyone knows please let us know.

For the last year or so I have been replacing all of my lights with leds. Obviously, the tri color and anchor light have been huge energy savers. Something like 2.5 to 3 amps per hour. I really like the 2 color lights in the salon. The red is great for night sails. I put a couple of recessed lights ...

It is easy to take off and put the leg on while in the water if you can stand in the water. Better get the waders or a wet suit out. Right now the only thing holding the leg on is the sterring ball and your rope. The whole leg is not very heavy --under 50lbs (22kg) You can buy just the the top leg c...

Good morning. That is really a shame. I do not know of any other source for the outdrive other than Sillette. I am sure it would be a lot of work to adapt some other drive unit since the Prouts were specifically designed so that the outdrive would fit without any work. Do you have the manual? If not...

Power

I just installed a Yanmar 3YM30 with a 2.62 transmission gear ratio to replace the 3HM35. I am still looking for the right propeller -- using a 15 x 12 but I think the 15 x 13 might give better performance. I did not notice any drop in performance and losing almost 100 pounds of weight was nice. I h...

Sling placement

On my Snowgoose Elite the lifting location is just like for Chris' boat. Just forward and aft of the keel. If your boat doesn't have them, I would suggest marking the best location forward and aft. You can use something like a small racing stripe, etc.

Rail sizes

Does anyone know the outside diameter of the rear rail and also the rails that are at the rear of the cockpit?

Thanks
