Aurochs is For Sale

My 1985 Snowgoose Classic is for sale. I have yet to create the list of components but I will say that the new headliner and cabin window project has been completed and looks great. If anyone is interested I may get around to seriously putting her on the market.

Snowgoose Classic Coming Up For Sale

I am just beginning to think about putting Aurochs (1985 # 236) on the market. Looking to the October Boat Show in Annapolis as a time to show it. Currently finishing a headliner replacement and installing new windows on front and sides of cabin. Any interest out there? Tom

Gebo Hatch Trim Rings

I am in the middle of a headliner replacement project and am needing new plastic trim rings for the salon and forward hatches on my Snowgoose. Does anyone know where they might be found? Or, might anyone who has replaced their old Gebos have their trim rings in tact that they would consider passing ...

Re: My "new" Snowgoose #175

Our home port is Flag Harbor Yacht Haven, St. Leonard, MD. We'll be doing some skiing through the winter and will resume boating in the spring. I always think I will be accomplishing all the needed boat projects over the winter but actually get to very few. Retirement is SO busy!

Re: My "new" Snowgoose #175

So, Dennis, what happened to your plans to be heading toward sunny Florida by now?

Re: My "new" Snowgoose #175

Dennis, Sorry, I missed your post earlier. I'm sure you have done a lot of work on your Prout by now but, just in case you are still wondering about your rub rails -- I did mine a couple of years ago. You can see the pictures at this site: http://www.pleasurevesselaurochs.blogspot.com/ As you can te...

Re: Rub Rail

The hull to deck joint is glassed over so the rubrail needn't be water tight. The rub rail does, however, protect the joint which could be damaged and begin to leak if you bumped along a piling a bit too hard. I would think your PVC would provide the necessary protection.

Re: Rub Rail

You're welcome, Geoff. I'll post some more photos as we go along and when finished. I'd be interested to know how you end up doing yours. Geoff, Happy New Year! I am wondering if you ever replaced your rub rail and what you used. Mine performed magnificently on our trip to Maine last summer and I'm...

Re: Prout modifications and photos

My Snowgoose used to have a propane frig mounted outboard in the galley just before the bunkhead to the aft cabin. It connected to the gas line that serves the cooktop and stove and vented to vent mounted on the cabin topside just aft of the starboard window. Before I bought the boat in 1995 it had ...

Re: Rub Rail

I am in the middle of a rubrail replacement on Aurochs (37' Snowgoose Classic). We have removed the old, rotting rail and cleaned up all of the bedding and caulking. I ordered a rigid PVC w/ stainless insert rail from Barbour Plastics (http://barbourcorp.com/marine-products/R1198.htm) and plan to in...

Escape Hatch

Moocher, Shortly after I bought my Snowgoose in 1995 I read an article where the author made a disparaging remark about "British catamarans" capsizing. I wrote to Prout and encouraged them to respond to this chap. I also asked them what they knew of Prouts capsizing. I received a response ...
