Prout engine out

Try contacting Mike on Peregrine who is in the middle of an engine out job - he has some fancy lifting tackle rigged at present.

Quest 33CS emergency tiller

Has anybody got drawings and/or photographs of an emergency tiller for a Quest 33CS (or similar).
I have a small access hatch over the extended rudder stock of the starboard rudder but no tiller .

Stowe etc.

My Quest 33CS still has Stowe depth, wind and Nav log instruments. I have replaced two out of three (wind and depth) with spares picked up in the Boat Jumbles. Have added tachometer, engine hours and ameter from Faria and most recently a Clipper battery monitor. Just picked up a new Yanmar control p...

Gibb genoa sheet car

Has anyone replaced the genoa sheet car or car sheaves on a Quest (or perhaps an Event with Gibb cars)? Mine were made by Gibb and run on a 25mm T bar (presumably also by Gibb)? I was there again this year last Sunday and noticed a number of Stowe items again including a complete set of instruments and tran...

Staysail

I hoist my staysail most of the time on my Quest 33 unless down wind. It definately improves the flow over the mainsail and improves both speed and pointing ability. No advantage down wind as it blankets part of the foresail.

Taking up the slack

I couldn't get my tiller bar clamp tight enough on the rudder stock and have resorted to adding stainless steel shims in the clamp.

Also worth checking the joint between the tiller bar and the cross bar (like a track rod end on a car) - one of mine worked loose and added to the slack in the system.
