I wonder if it is trying to copy the steering geometry of a car, where, whilst turning, the inner wheel (rudder) on the inside of the turn has to deflect more to better assist the turning circle?

Yet another problem with my newly acquired Sirocco, is that that the actuating cylinder has been rubbing on the inside of the access panel (since 1982!), so much that the cylinder has worn away and now leaks. All mine are worn so that there is about 1" play at the rudder!

I have only recently bought my '82 Sirocco. The captions on the fuse panel switches, particularly the Nav lights (I think!) have been used so much that they are unreadable!
Could anyone help me identify which is which, please?
